Zoo Walk

Taronga Zoo

Thursday 27th February 2014

A fine group of gathered faithful from overseas Australia assembled to join the Sisters on their annual Zoo Walk as part of the Mardi Gras Festival for 2014 and what a wonderful time was had by all in spite of the somewhat inclemet weather at times.

A group of around twenty five gathered at the Ferry Terminal on Circular Quay to embark on the ferry across our beautiful harbour. As is usually the case, upon arrival visitors were treated with up and close animal encounters, arranged by Leanne and her team.

Following this, the garthered faithful were sorted into smaller more personal groupings for a guided tour, hosted by zoo volunteers and of course accompanied by our own Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence.
The perambulation of the zoo culminated with the free flight bird show. Although the clouds had begun to gather closely, the amazing backdrop the harbour and the city added the finishing touches to this spectacular event.

Following the bird show many of the visitors joined the Sisters for lunch, libation and merriment at one of the zoo's restaurants.

A big thank you goes out to Leanne at the zoo once more for helping co-ordinate this wonderful experience and to the wonderful volunteers.

See you all next year!
