It was with much sadness that several of the Sydney Sisters Of Perpetual Indulgence in secular guise joined other members of the gathered faithful to remember and bid farewell to Sister Mary Backroom [of the Eternally Grazed Knee] aka Shane Hurley at a wake organised by Sister Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation II (CPRII) at the Rose Of Australia Hotel in Erskineville.
In secular guise, Sister CPRII gave a moving eulogy with some humorous anecdotes included to show the many aspects of Shane’s personality and life.
Other members of the gathered faithful then shared their own memories of Shane including his Sister who had driven up from Canberra for the occasion.
Sister Mary Backroom will be remembered for his amazing positive outlook and sometimes myopic viewpoint, his mischievous grin, evil laugh and a sex drive that just didn’t quit!
